A
well made 1920's copy of a Jacobean pedestal desk made by G T Rackstraw,
Worcester, England. (The original label located beneath the top).
This
is a top quality, distressed oak desk constructed in the seventeen century
style, measures 60 inches wide. It is fitted with 7 drawers all with mitre
cushion moulded faced with walnut veneers and brass pear drop handles.
The drawers are all oak lined and each fitted with a lock.
It still has it's original brown hide writing surface. This, as you would
expect, has some signs of age and a water mark. A new hide writing surface
in any colour can be fitted if you prefer.
As
a pedestal desk it is constructed in 3 sections for ease of installation;
top and 2 pedestals.
The desk has paneled sides and back with a pegged framework construction
in the traditional manner. It stands on 8 bun feet.
