


This
18th Century style desk was manufactured to a very high standard with
considerable attention to detail.
The flame mahogany veneers, which feature on both front and rear of the
desk have been carefully chosen and matched to allow the full beauty of
the timbers to be seen.
It has all the original features 18th century style brass handles which
have ornate pierced backs and swan neck handles with scrolling ends and
floral boss centre.
The desk has the original dusky maroon hide writing surface which is in
three separate panels all cross banded with figured mahogany.
The top has an inverted breakfront to both front and rear and concave
corners.
There is an old 'Harrods' depository label to the underside of the top.
The
top is fitted with with three drawers to the front and dummy draws to
the rear.
The drawers are cockbeaded, oak lined and of dovetail construction.
The pedestals are each fitted with three drawers to the front and cupboards
to the reverse and stand on bracket feet with hidden castors.
The
desk has been sympathetically restored and french polished.
