This large English antique oak libray or desk chair would suit
a traditional period office, an Arts and Crafts or contemporary setting.
It is very stylish and substantially made chair with a rich brown patina
and newly upholstered in a quality brown hide which replicates the original
covering. It has a beautifully carved top rail with a design of scrolling
leaves and tulips.
The back supports also have leaf carved capitals and the padded back
has carved roundels to either side.
The padded and sprung seat is very comfortable and generously sized. The back panel and arms are also well padded.
The arms, front legs and streachers are decoratively turned and the front legs retain the original brass and ceramic
castors.
