A Pair of Victorian Mahogany Open Armchairs circa 1870

This good quality pair of Victorian open armchairs are made from well figured solid mahogany timbers. They have a shaped panel back, generous scrolling arms and a curved bar back. The padded drop in seats have recently been upholstered in a quality chestnut coloured hide.

The chairs stand on turned front legs and swept back rear legs. They have been french polished and have a beautiful rich, reddish brown, patina.

Pairs of this type of chair are very rare especially in such good condition. They would be well suited to a partners desk or as library or sitting room chairs.
