The arms have intricately carved flamingo head terminals
with leaf cared supports, a most unusual feature found only in the
best quality pieces.
The chair has a padded drop in seat recently recovered
in a good quality dark tan hide. The seat rail has a gadroon carved
boarder and stands on bold cabriole legs with carved knees and ball
and claw feet. The turned, out swept, back legs have club feet.
All the carving on the chair is from the solid not applied
moulding. Chairs of this type are rare and apart from reviving the
polish there has been no cabinet work and there is no evidence of
old repairs.
