This large, handsome desk, is fitted with 3 oak
lined, cock beaded drawers to either side of the top and has pedestals
of 3 drawers with a cupboard to the reverse.
The cupboards each have one shelf and the whole stands on a plinth
bases. These can be arranged with one pedestal of drawers and one
cupboard on each side or drawers on one side and cupboards on the
other.
It has an attractive, aged, pale green hide writing surface, decorated
with a gilt tooled edge. The leather is also bordered with a 2”
wide cross band of figured mahogany and ‘bull nose’ molding
to the edge of the top.
The hide, as you would expect, shows signs of age and wear but is
perfectly in keeping with an antique desk of this style.
If you would prefer a new writing surface we can
of course supply it with an expertly fitted hide replacement.
As a partners desk it is of course finished all round and designed
to be freestanding in a room and does not need to placed against a
wall.
The desk has been carefully restored within the past 10-15 years and
there has been some veneer repair and replacement.
