Georgian
Mahogany Partner's Desk circa 1800
This
a superb quality Georgian antique desk with a black hide writing surface
decorated with gold tooling.
A
very attractive looking desk with beautiful proportions that would
fit into most room sizes and blend easily with contemporary or traditional
room settings.
There
are 3 cock beaded drawers to either side of the top section. All the
drawers have oak linings and hand made dovetail joints. They have
oval brass handles with embossed urn and swag design.
The pedestals are each fitted with three drawers and a cupboard to
the reverse. They stand on plinth bases and have concealed castors
for ease of movement. This partners desk is made in three parts for
ease of movement and installation
The
desk has recently been professionally restored. This included french
polishing which brings out the attractive mid-brown mahogany colour
of the wood, typical of the Georgian period furniture.
This
lovely antique Georgian partners desk would enhance not only an office
but would add a touch of antique elegance to any room in the home.
