A very fine and attractive Victorian mahogany partner’s desk,
fitted with green leather writing surface with gilt tooling and
bull nose moulded edge to the top.
The mahogany used in the desks construction is particularly well
figured and patinated. This coupled with the high quality of its
construction makes this a very attractive piece of fine English
furniture. The top writing section of the desk is fitted with 3
drawers to either side.
Each pedestal has 3 drawers on one side and a cupboard with a shelf
on the other and they stand on a plinth bases with hidden castors.
The drawers are of traditional dovetail construction, have ogee
moulding's to the front edges, are lined with pine and have traditional
turned wooden knobs. The desk has been restored and all drawers
and cupboards have keys and working locks. As a partner’s
desk it is of course finished all round, designed to be freestanding
in a room and does not need to be placed against a wall.
It is made in three sections for ease of transport and assembly.
