A recently, sympathetically, restored Victorian partners desk measuring
72" wide by 48" deep. It has a glorious rich brown patina
with an old olive-brown hide writing surface decorated with gilt tooling.
The hide is surrounded by a 3" band of mahogany with a thumb
moulded edge and has attractive rounded corners.
The desk top has 3 drawers either side of its length and each pedestal
has 3 drawers to the front and a cupboard to the reverse. All the
drawers are of traditional dovetail construction with solid mahogany
linings, well figured mahogany fronts, original turned wooden knobs
and working locks. The desk has attractive rounded edges to all corners
and stands on plinth bases with hidden castors for ease of movement.
As with all pedestal desks, it comes in 3 parts for ease of handling
and transportation.
