A
very attractive, good quality, antique Victorian mahogany partners
desk with unusual decorative paneling.
This
antique desk has been recently restored, french polished and is fitted
with a black writing surface with gilt tooling. The writing surface
is surrounded by a boarder of figured mahogany with a thumb-moulded
edge.
The top has three drawers fitted to the front and two long drawers
to the rear. Each pedestal has three drawers fitted to the front and
cupboards fitted to the reverse.
The
drawers are of hand made construction with moulded edges and turned
mahogany knobs and there are arched and rectangular moulded panels
to the sides.
The
cupboards also have two corbels to the top of each. The pedestals
have plinth bases with hidden castors.
As with all pedestal desks it is made in tree sections, a top and
two pedestals for ease of movement and installation.
