A Handsome and well proportioned
Edwardian partner's desk which has recently been restored.
The desk has a dark tan hide writing
surface with gilt and blind tooling, surrounded by a 3 inch band of
mahogany with a moulded edge. The drawers are lined with mahogany
and are of dovetail construction. The drawer fronts have moulded edges
and are fitted with the original handles, locks and keys.
There is an attractive carved fluted
decoration to the sides of the pedestals and between the drawers in
the top section.
The pedestals are fitted with 3 drawers
to the front and cupboards to the reverse with paneled doors and a
fitted shelf. The pedestals stand on plinth bases with hidden castors.
As a partner's desk
it is made in 3 parts the top and 2 pedestals and finished all round,
designed to be freestanding in a room.
