Early 20th Century Kidney Shaped Mahogany Pedestal
This is a most attractive early 20th century mahogany kidney shaped desk has beautiful figured mahogany veneers on sides
and throughout the drawer fronts.
It has a very attractive 'old gold' leather writing surface, with gilt and blind tooling, surrounded by a 2 inch band of well figured
mahogany and a bull nose moulded edge.
The drawers are all cock beaded, mahogany
lined and of dovetail construction. The decorative brass handles are
original and the desk has working locks and keys. The two pedestals have three drawers in each and the separate
writing top also has three drawers.
It stands on attractive short Satyr legs
with hoof feet.
This English desk is of tremendous quality with fabulous figured veneers. It has
been polished al round and is designed to be free standing in a room.
Condition :The desk is in excellent condition, the polish has been revived and benefits from a new writing leather.
