A very unusual and attractive Antique Victorian
Partners Desk with 9 drawers to each side.
This antique desk is made from a blond solid walnut
with side panels and drawers in pitch pine with warm highlights.
The desk has an antique finish tan leather writing surface
with blind and gilt tooling. This is surrounded by a 3 inch band of
walnut with mitred corners.
Both front and back are fitted with 3 drawers of handmade
construction with brass loop handles. Each of the pedestals are each
fitted with three drawers to the front and to the reverse.
The sides have unusual diagonal paneling with chamfered
edges forming a chevron design. This style is associated with the
Victorian Gothic Revival Movement and is an unusual feature in an
antique desk.
As with most pedestal desks it is constructed in three
sections, top and two pedestals, for ease of movement and installation.
