A very
fine, stylish and top quality antique Victorian writing table in the
French style. Its ebonised wooden frame is profusely veneered in amboyna,
an exotic burr wood. The top is fitted with a black hide writing surface
decorated with gilt tooling. This is surrounded with a wide band of
amboyna inlaid with a band of satinwood and edged with ebony and boxwood.
A long concealed draw fits neatly into the frieze and is made from
mahogany and of dovetail construction. It stands on four turned and
tapering legs joined by a very stylish curved stretchers with a central
raised finial. It has brass cup castors and is finished all around
allowing it to be used as a freestanding piece. Measurements Length
