This is a good quality, large, William 1V library or writing table
in a attractive dark mahogany. It has very attractive turned and reeded
legs with original brass castors and is of a size and design which
is becoming increasingly rare.
The
table has benefited from recent restoration including french polishing.
The
top has a mottled, deep brown leather writing surface with gilt tooling,
surrounded by a 2 inch band of mahogany. It has a thumb moulded edge
and rounded corners.
There
are three drawers to both sides of its length which are handmade and
of dovetail construction.They have ogee moulded edges, turned wooden
knobs mahogany linings.
