Superb Antique Rosewood William 1V Library or Sofa Table c1840. This beautiful antique writing table or sofa table has very attractive and well figured veneers throughout. The stunningly attractive and highly polished writing surface has rounded edges and displays the beautiful rosewood veneers to full advantage. There are two frieze drawers fitted to the front with original button handles and brass locks. The drawers are of hand cut with dovetail joints and are lined in mahogany. There are panels to the reverse of the frieze and attractive gilt moulding's inset in the side brackets. The top is supported by elegant reeded, bulbous end, supports with lotus design collars, platform supports and bun feet. It has the original hidden brass castors. This is a high quality table of elegant proportions with an excellent
patina and colour.
