This delightful and skillfully constructed
landscape oil painting from the English artist P. Ambrose, portrays
a shepherd leading his flock along a country road on Cookham Hill,
Surrey, flanked by silver birch trees.
The painting is well composed with rich
autumnal colours in the foreground and a beautiful long distance view
of the Surrey Countryside. The artists signature appears on the bottom
left of the picture and the title and date are penciled on one of
the stretchers to the reverse.
The painting would sit handsomely in an office, study or library or
even a sitting room. It has a real ‘country house’ feel.
Condition: The painting is in good original
condition with no crazing of the varnish. The original guilt frame
has some minor damage.
