Antique Mahogany Partners Library Table or Desk
This very large antique mahogany partners library table is constructed
from the best quality figured mahogany timbers to a very high standard.
Over the years it has developed a lovely patina and has recently been professionally cleaned and polished.
One of the central drawers is stamp marked for the 19th century
London furniture supplier 'W Priest 1 & 2 Tudor St Black Friars'.
There is also remnants of a paper label for 'Priests'* in this drawer.
The table has a replacement black hide writing surface with gilt and blind tooling which is
surrounded by a band of Mahogany with a 'thumb moulded edge' and rounded corners.
To either side of the width are three mahogany lined drawers with cock beaded front edges and turned wooden knobs.
The drawers are constructed with hand cut dovetail joints and have brass locks.
The table stands on four well turned tapering legs terminating in brass castors.
Such large sized library tables / desks are becoming increasingly rare to source.
Their large surface are make them very useful as large desks, conference or library tables for offices, study or libraries.
